OPU Indoor Fall Mini Club

Want to be on a Volleyball Team?

OPU Mini Club is for girls ages 13 and under.  Mini Club is geared towards young athletes who are looking to develop their fundamental volleyball skills and to be able to compete in local tournaments.  Mini Clubs play competitive local volleyball clubs so that they can experience tournament like competition.  The goal is for these athletes to be able to make a school team and put them on the right path to play at higher more competitive levels. Teams are formed by age groups, skill level and practice twice a week.

Fall Mini Club Registration

The cost is $400, which includes a practice T-shirt, tournament jersey, tournament entry fees, and coaching.  

Practices tentatively will be from

5:00pm - 6:30pm & 6:45 - 8:15pm on Tuesdays & Thursdays, 

 Practices will begin September 8, 2020 with the last practice on October  29, 2020

AAU Membership Required

FAQ - Mini Club

How many athletes to a team?
There are up to 8-10 athletes per team. 
 
When are practices?
Practices will be twice a week.  Please see above for details

 

What is the cost?

 

$400 per player

Are there any additional cost?
Athletes will need to purchase an AAU Membership $14
Athletes will also need to wear BLACK spandex to practice and for games.
Athletes will need knee pads for practices and games.
 
Do you have to pay all at once?
No, $200 is due at registration and then $200 is due on September 1st
 
How do I know what age group my child will play?
They will play in their USAV guidelines for VOLLEYBALL age group but they may be moved at the discretion of the Club director depending on ability and experience.
 
What days are tournaments?
There will be (3) tournaments September 19th, September 26th, & October 10th  with a championship on October 24th @ The Big House
 
An email will be sent with the location and schedule when they are received by OPU staff, generally by the Wednesday prior to the tournament date.
 
How do I register?

What do I need to bring to the practice?
Water, and wear appropriate volleyball gear (knee pads, spandex, t-shirt, and athletic shoes).
 
Do we offer scholarships or payment plans?
At this time we do not offer scholarships for mini club but we do offer a split payment option.
 
What is the youngest age we accept?
We usually start at the age of 8 years of age but we are aware that there are some youngsters that are very attentive, skilled and ready to participate at a younger age. Their is no hard rule its more about the child readiness than the actual age. 

What is the oldest age we accept?
Currently, the maximum age is 13.
